Although we carefully test all links to articles before distributing the newsletter, we regret that breakdowns sometimes occur. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.

Newsletter Highlights
Energized by the recent annual celebration of Earth Day on April 22nd that launched a three-year global effort to combat climate change, this month we are pleased to share an article about the leadership role the City of Seattle has taken by announcing a comprehensive plan to reduce harmful emissions that cause global warming city-wide. On the subject of Earth Day and climate change, you may be interested to learn that several of Earth Day's "Top 10 List" for combatting climate change include energy saving activities practiced by a growing number of facility managers nationwide such as:

  • Changing over to highly efficient compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFLs) that last for years, use a quarter of the energy of regular bulbs and actually produce more light
  • Reducing heating costs by 10 percent annually by carrying out regular tune-ups of facilities heating systems
  • Installing low water-use foliage outside buildings by choosing hardier plants, by planting things in groups that need more water than other foliage, and putting in mulch to help all plants retain moisture

We invite you to take a close look at this month's Selling Tip regarding disinfectants - the latest of our series focusing on indivudal cleaning products. Our environmental news articles this month include stories about the growing popularity of green construction, a study calling for a plan to cut the use of toxic substances in product manufacturing, and a newly established partnership involving IFMA design to promote sustainability.

I hope by now that you have had a chance to examine our new monthly newsletter, “MANAGINGGREEN.” It is the ONLY publication exclusively dedicated to helping facility managers understand the issues surrounding Green Facility Management so they can better serve the needs of their customers. You can see the current issue by clicking HERE. We welcome your emails to us about this new publication and hope you will recommend it to all your customers.

All the best and happy selling!
