Happy Spring! The highlights of this month’s DestinationGreen include the growing problem of climate change and the importance it places on carrying out sustainable business practices. As you’ll see among our list of news stories, the March 26 edition of Time Magazine headlines the issue of climate change as an environmental threat that requires more attention and action by governments and businesses around the world. When Time Magazine spotlights climate change, no one can claim it is an environmental crisis only espoused by a bunch of misguided “tree-huggers.” Clearly, it is a VERY mainstream public issue.

Since sustainable living at home and at work is the key solution to climate change, there’s no better time to be involved with the promotion of green cleaning products and processes. After all, sustainable business activities are defined as saving money, protecting the environment, earning customer trust, honoring employees, boosting efficiency and productivity, strengthening the economy, and creating market opportunities. Green cleaning is all that too, and more!

Also, this month’s “Selling Tip” focuses on a great example of sustainable business practices – green floor care products and processes.

Earth Day is coming up soon (on April 22nd) and given the recent Time Magazine feature story, it should come as no surprise that the theme of this year’s Earth Day celebration is “climate change solutions.”

Originally established in the U.S. in 1970, Earth Day promotes environmental stewardship worldwide. Today, it is the only event celebrated simultaneously around the globe by people of all backgrounds, faiths, and nationalities with a total of some half-billion participants. You can find a wealth of information and simple fact sheets about the Earth Day Network and climate change online at www.earthday.net.
