January Welcome Message

Steve AshkinWelcome To DestinationGreen.

Maximize your opportunities over the coming months by thinking about Green Cleaning in different ways. Be creative and get specific! In addition to setting the traditional goal for total sales and commission dollars, why not set objectives for all the steps necessary to really succeed --- and to really make a difference.

For example, you might consider establishing goals for the total number of: building audits you conduct; Green Cleaning proposals you produce; Green Cleaning programs you implement; existing Green Cleaning programs you expand. Consider some new angles for your list of professional development goals such as: writing a magazine article on Green Cleaning; giving Green Cleaning presentations; attending a Green Cleaning workshop; taking a class at Green Cleaning University; reading a book about environmental issues (“Green Cleaning for Dummies” will be published this Spring).

One of the best and oldest methods for building success is by increasing your network—your green network. Get involved with the local chapter of the US Green Building Council; join a Green Cleaning environmental advocacy group; or get involved with an organization that advocates for environmental safety or for children’s health.

And what about thinking outside the box? Plan a local Earth Day event; orchestrate a Green Cleaning initiative for your city or county; trade in that gas-guzzler for a hybrid vehicle; or go climate-neutral.  As Margaret Mead said “never forget that a small group of thoughtful committed citizens can change the world.”  So let’s join together to make a world of difference in 2007.

Wishing you a healthy, happy and prosperous New Year – Steve Ashkin
