LEED-EB Review and Comment

Welcome to the LEED-EB Review and Comment Site, sponsored by The Ashkin Group and DestinationGREEN. The USGBC (U.S. Green Building Council) is reviewing the current content of the LEED for Existing Buildings (LEED-EB) credits to consider possible revisions.

The Ashkin Group has developed an eBooklet offering more information about LEED, LEED-EB and the certification process. To view that eBooklet, click HERE. Additional information about LEED, LEED-EB and the U.S. Green Building Council may be found on the USGBC web site - www.usgbc.org and specific LEED-EB information - HERE.

Stephen Ashkin, President of The Ashkin Group, is a member of the Core Committee responsible for developing these credits. He is asking for your thoughts and input to this process.

Your comments and suggestions are important because LEED-EB will have an important impact on the future of our industry and your business.  Furthermore, while we encourage you to join the Council and get directly involved with the process (click HERE for membership information), we want to create a special opportunity for those of you who are not currently members of the Council so your voice may be heard

We anticipate that this round of revisions will primarily be clarification of current credit language with larger revisions taking place in about a year.  This will give registered projects a real chance to report on their experience with using LEED-EB.

Deadline for your comments is February 28th.  We appreciate the time you take to review the current credits and suggestions for expanding, improving or clarifying them as they apply to our industry. Please understand that while all comments will be reviewed, there is no assurance that any specific suggestion can or will be implemented in the standards.  But we will do our best.

Please click the CONTINUE button below to see a list of specifc LEED-EB credits that are applicable to the cleaning industry. If you click on a credit you will be taken to a new page. On that page you'll find a full recitation of the credit and some additional information about the credit. After reviewing the information, if you would like to comment or offer suggestions about that credit, please click the button labeled COMMENT. This will open your email program and address a note to our office. Simply type in your comments or suggestions and click SEND.

Thank you for your assistance!
